Yuma County Hazardous Weather Outlook

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska…
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT…

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 5 AM MST, 6 AM
CST for areas along and south of Interstate 70.

With snow cover on area roads and temperatures falling through the
low teens into the single digits, dangerous travel conditions will
persist through sunrise. Travel is not advised early this morning. If
you must travel, slow down, turn off cruise control, and exercise
additional caution, particularly at intersections and highway onramps
and offramps where accidents are more likely to occur. Decelerating
abruptly or making sharp turns at a high rate of speed may result in
loss of vehicle control. Avoid sudden accelerations and
decelerations.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY…

A winter storm may impact the Tri-State area late this weekend.
Heavy snow and strong winds will be possible in association with this
system. At this range, further details cannot be determined with
confidence.

Weather observers are encouraged to report snow accumulations to the
National Weather Service in Goodland via social media or telephone.
