This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... Precipitation expected to develop in northeast Colorado late this morning will spread eastward into portions of northwest Kansas this afternoon. In Colorado, where precipitation will fall as snow and precipitation may persist overnight, an inch or two of snow accumulation is expected. Locally heavier amounts are possible, mainly over western portions of Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado. Accumulating snow becomes less likely with eastern extent across the Colorado border into northwest Kansas, where precipitation may predominately fall as light rain this afternoon. Accumulating snow cannot entirely be ruled out along the Interstate 70 corridor in Sherman County, Kansas. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH FRIDAY... North Northwest winds will strengthen during the day on Saturday, increasing to 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph during the late morning and persisting through the afternoon. Wind of this magnitude may create hazardous travel conditions, especially in areas with fresh snow cover, where blowing and drifting snow would be expected. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed.
