Yuma County Hazardous Weather Outlook

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska…
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT…

Moderate to heavy snowfall is anticipated today and tonight,
across the Tri-State area.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Colorado counties, Yuma
and Kit Carson. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 10 inches are
expected for these areas. Hazardous travel conditions will last
today through tomorrow afternoon.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the remainder of our
county warning area. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches are
expected. Snow covered roads and limited visibilities will cause
travel difficulties.

Travelers headed west can expect worsening conditions today, and
especially, tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY…

Snow covered roads and limited visibilities will cause travel
difficulties through Wednesday afternoon. Afterward, conditions will
being to improve with snow ending Wednesday evening.

Additionally, Thursday morning, wind chill values are forecast to be
in the negative teens to near zero across our area. If forecast
trends continue, wind chill highlights could be issued. Stay tuned.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be required, but snowfall reports are
greatly appreciated.
