YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TONIGHT...  Isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms may occur for Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in East Central Colorado. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 4 AM MT. Hail up to three inches in diameter and wind gusts up to 70 MPH may occur with the strongest storms.  A second round of storms is expected after midnight. Confidence is low there will be severe weather with these storms. If severe weather does occur it will be wind gusts up to 60 MPH. The main threat will be flash flooding due to prolonged heavy rainfall.  A flood watch has been issued for East Central Colorado and portions of Western Kansas through Thursday morning. Most of the area covered by the flood watch has also observed heavy rainfall or flooding over the past week, so these locations are more susceptible to flash flooding.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  Additional rounds of storms are expected Thursday and Friday afternoon and evenings. Some storms will be strong to severe, with the potential for large hail and damaging wind. A tornado or two can not be ruled out for Friday. Torrential rainfall will be possible with these storms, leading to the continued risk for flash flooding.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
