WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  ...HIGH WIND WARNING FRONT RANGE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS TODAY... ...SNOW MOVES INTO THE HIGH COUNTRY THROUGH TONIGHT AND FRIDAY, AND ALSO SPILLS ONTO THE PLAINS/I-25 CORRIDOR...  .DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight  Strong westerly winds will occur across the mountains and foothills, where a High Wind Warning is in effect until 5 pm. Peak gusts in wind prone areas such as along the Peak to Peak Highway and over the higher Front Range mountains will reach 65 to 80 mph.  Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions will also exist due to the gusty winds and warm temperatures. Please adhere to local burn bans, and avoid any outdoor activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.  Winds will decrease this evening. Meanwhile, light snow showers will be spreading into the mountains, with slick travel conditions developing on some mountain roads.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday  The mountain snow spreads onto the plains Friday and Friday night with periods of snowfall. Roads may become snow covered at times Friday, but there will be better chance for snow covered and slick roads Friday night when temperatures fall below freezing. Be prepared for slick and hazardous travel conditions Friday evening and overnight.  For Saturday, snow becomes light and ends in the mountains. It will be windy across the eastern plains with gusts to 45 mph.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter reports of wind and snow are appreciated.
