This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Expect strengthening winds in the mountains tonight, particularly at pass level and near and above treeline, with gusts 45-60 mph anticipated. Breezy conditions will spread into the foothills through sunrise, and to the immediately adjacent lower elevations Thursday morning, where gusts will range between 30-60 mph (highest in the foothills). .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday The next weather system will move into the Central Rockies Thursday. This will bring a round of light snow to most of the mountains Thursday morning through Thursday evening. Most mountain areas will only see light accumulations of snow of 1 to 3 inches, but a few spots in the Park Range could see 6 inches or a little more. For those traveling into the high country, some slush and snow can be expected at times over the higher mountain passes, but temperatures should remain mild enough for mostly wet road conditions overall. Only isolated rain showers could spill onto the plains Thursday afternoon and evening. After this, the next opportunity for precipitation will be from late Saturday night into Sunday and Monday. A few inches of snow will be possible in the high country, and temperatures will be turning colder so there will likely be travel impacts for high country travelers mainly late Sunday through Monday. The I-25 Corridor and plains could also see a few bands of snow late Sunday night into Monday, but there's considerable uncertainty with regard to potential travel impacts. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed.
