A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for the entire Tri-State area
until 9 AM MDT, 10 AM CDT this morning.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY…
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect Thursday afternoon through
Thursday night for Kit Carson and Yuma counties in northeast
Colorado, Cheyenne county in Kansas, and Dundy and Hitchcock
counties in southwest Nebraska.
A brief but potent storm system will impact the Tri-State area
Thursday afternoon into Thursday night. The majority of
precipitation with this system is anticipated to fall in northeast
Colorado and southwest Nebraska. Strong northerly winds are
expected across the entire Tri-State area late Thursday afternoon
and Thursday evening. At this time, expect sustained northerly winds
at 30 to 40 mph and gusts up to 55 mph. Winds will gradually weaken
late Thursday evening into Thursday night. Wind chill readings as low
as 0 degrees are expected Friday morning.
Residents and travelers are encouraged to pay close attention to the
forecast during the next 24 to 36 hours, as this system develops.
