.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY…
Strong northwest winds will develop across portions of the Tri-
State area late Thursday morning into Thursday afternoon, mainly
along and west of Kansas Highway 83 where sustained winds as high as
30 to 40 mph and gusts up to 50 mph will be possible. Winds of this
magnitude may create hazardous travel conditions, particularly on
west-east routes such as Interstate 70. Winds will rapidly weaken at
or around sunset Thursday evening.
Elevated fire weather conditions will be possible during the
afternoon hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, mainly in eastern
