YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...  A Heat Advisory is in effect for counties along and south of a line from Wallace to Graham counties. Heat index values in excess of 104 degrees are forecast. These heat index values put additional stress on the body, especially the young and elderly.  A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Yuma county through 9pm mountain time. Wind gusts up to 70 mph and an isolated instance or two of hail around ping pong ball size are the main hazards. Wind gusts of 50-60 mph are possible for counties adjacent to the watch. More isolated storms are possible across northwest Kansas during the afternoon with large hail up to quarter size and wind gusts up to 60 mph.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  Strong to severe storms are forecast across the area Thursday evening. Wind gusts up to 75 mph are the primary hazard. Blowing dust may accompany these storms with visibility possibly falling below one mile or less potentially impacting travel and air quality.  Near daily chances for at least isolated strong to severe storms Friday through the weekend. Wind gusts up to 70 mph, large hail, and maybe flooding are possible.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
