This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT... A brief severe storm is possible late this afternoon and early this evening, mainly south of I-70 in Kansas between 4 PM and 9 PM MDT. Wind gusts up to 70 mph and dime to quarter size hail are the main threats. Locally heavy rainfall and nuisance flooding are also possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... A prolonged period of hot weather is expected this weekend and early next week. High temperatures and heat index values are forecast to reach or exceed 100 degrees on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Low temperatures in the 60's and 70's may provide little relief during the overnight and early morning hours.
