YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  A Red Flag Warning is in effect for counties along and west of a line from McCook, Nebraska, to Leoti, Kansas, from late this morning through this evening. Relative humidity as low as 10 percent and wind gusts up to 45 mph will lead to increased fire danger. In addition, afternoon storms may produce dry lightning which can trigger wildfires. Expect unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop may rapidly grow and spread out of control.  Widely scattered thunderstorms will develop between noon and 2pm MT this afternoon in the vicinity of the Kansas and Colorado border and move northeast through this afternoon before dissipating between 5pm and 8pm MT. Some storms may be capable of producing wind gusts of up to 60 mph, isolated large hail, and blowing dust and localized dust storms. High winds and blowing dust may create dangerous travel conditions, especially for high profile vehicles, in and near thunderstorms.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...  Thursday, relative humidity as low as 10 percent and wind gusts up to 25 mph could lead to increased fire danger again for most of the area. Dry lightning is also possible. Fires may spread rapidly.  Widely scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Thursday afternoon may produce wind gusts of up to 60 mph as well as blowing dust and localized dust storms. Hazardous travel conditions due to wind and reduced visibility will be possible.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Active weather across portions of the Tri-State Area is anticipated. Spotters are encouraged to report significant weather conditions.
