YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect for the entire Tri-State area. Wind chill readings of 20 below to 30 below zero are anticipated today and tonight, leading to an increased potential of rapid onset of hypothermia not only in humans but livestock and pets as well. Frostbite may occur in 30 minutes or less.  A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect through 11 PM MST tonight (12 AM CST) Wednesday morning. Additional snowfall accumulations today will range from a few tenths to two, maybe three inches. Another round of snow is expected tonight with snowfall amounts ranging from zero to perhaps two to three inches. The highest amounts are expected north of a line from Yuma to Goodland and Gove. This may impact travel due to reduced visibility and snow covered slick roadways.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY...  An Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect through mid-day Thursday for the entire Tri-State area. Wind chill readings will remain as low as 30 below, lead to an increased potential of rapid onset of hypothermia not only in humans but livestock and pets as well. Frostbite may occur in 30 minutes or less.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed. Snowfall reports would be appreciated via telephone and social media.
