Yuma County Hazardous Weather Outlook

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska…
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE…THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT…

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for the entire Tri-State area this
afternoon. As of 12 pm MST, numerous fires have already been detected in
Cheyenne county, Kansas. These fires were located east of Highway 27
and along and north of Highway 36.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SUNDAY THROUGH SATURDAY…

A period of light wintry precipitation is expected in the wake of a
cold frontal passage Sunday night and early Monday morning.
Precipitation will be light in nature and short in duration.
Regardless of precipitation type, hazardous travel conditions will
be the primary impact. Northeasterly winds at 20 to 30 mph will
result in wind chill readings in the single digits Monday morning.

Spotter activation will not be needed.
