Yuma County Hazardous Weather Outlook

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska…
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT…

Light snow will develop in eastern Colorado shortly near sunrise
this morning and progress eastward across the Tri-State area during
the afternoon. Snow will end from west to east during the late
afternoon and early evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY…

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for our next system from noon
MDT /1 PM CDT/ Tuesday to noon MDT /1 PM CDT/ Wednesday. Advisory
covers portions of northwest Kansas, northeast Colorado and
southwest Nebraska. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches are
expected. Snow covered roads and limited visibilities will cause
travel difficulties.

Residents and those who plan to travel through northwest
Kansas and eastern Colorado on Tuesday and Wednesday are urged to pay
close attention to the forecast as there is still some uncertainty in
storm track and speed.

Additionally, Thursday morning, wind chill values are forecast to be
in the negative teens to near zero across our area.

Spotter activation not required, but snowfall reports are greatly
appreciated.
