YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  Heat index values around the mid to upper 90's are forecasted this afternoon along and south of a line from Norton to Gove and Leoti.  Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible south of Interstate 70 late this afternoon. If a storm becomes severe, hail up to golf ball in size and wind gusts up to 70 mph are possible.  Some fog may develop west of Highway 83 during the overnight. While most of the affected area is forecasted to have visibility around a few miles, there could be some patches of more dense fog with visibility near or less than 1/4 mile.   .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...  Thunderstorms will slowly increase in coverage Thursday afternoon, becoming likely along and north of Interstate 70 Thursday night. A few thunderstorms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds. Excessive rainfall is possible along and north of the Kansas Nebraska border.  Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon through Friday night. The primary hazards will be large hail, damaging winds, and excessive rainfall which may produce flash flooding.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation is not anticipated at this time but any severe weather reports are appreciated.
