YUMA COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...  There is a chance for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening across the entire Tri State region. Damaging hail, strong winds and even an isolated tornado is possible, especially south of the Interstate. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible.  A Flood Watch is in effect for areas along and west of Highway 27, and along and south of Interstate 70 from Noon MDT through 1100 pm MDT. Locally heavy rainfall, combined with past rainfall and wet soils could allow for flash flooding to occur.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...  Thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday. Locally heavy rainfall is possible along with the chance for strong to severe storms that could bring wind and hail threats.  There are chances for scattered thunderstorms over the area from Tuesday night on into the end of next week.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation may be required later today. Spotters are encouraged to report any severe or significant weather to the National Weather Service in Goodland via telephone or social media.
