This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska... northwest Kansas and east central Colorado. .DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT... Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening. These thunderstorms should begin to form around 1 PM MDT over Northwest Kansas and last until the late evening. Meanwhile another group of thunderstorms will move in from the west during the mid to late afternoon. Any storms that form will be capable of producing hail up to quarter size, wind gusts up to 70 MPH and rainfall rates of two inches per hour or more, especially during the evening. A Flood Watch has been issued for the afternoon and evening for counties most likely to experience flooding. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH THURSDAY... No hazardous weather is expected at this time. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed, but any reports of flooding, hail or wind would be greatly appreciated.
