Yuma County Hazardous Weather Outlook

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska…
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT…

Warm temperatures with very dry conditions are expected over far
eastern Colorado this afternoon as relative humidity values drop
below 15 percent.

Portions of northeast Colorado will see temperatures drop nearly 40
degrees in six hours this evening as a cold front begins moving
across the region. Below freezing temperatures are expected across
a good portion of the central High Plains region tonight along with
light rain changing to light snow wand a brief period of light
freezing rain over far northeast Colorado and the immediately
adjacent areas of northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska. A Freeze
Warning has been issued for northeast Colorado into portions of
southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas where a hard freeze is
expected tonight into Thursday morning. Wind chill values of 10 to
20 degrees are expected as winds gust to near 40 mph.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY…

Below freezing temperatures are expected across the entire forecast
area Thursday evening through Friday morning. A Freeze Watch has
been issued for the entire area in anticipation of a widespread hard
freeze with record or near record low temperatures in the teens
possible. Wind chills of 0 to 15 degrees are possible across the
area with winds gusting between 20 and 30 mph.
