This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska…
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.
.DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT…
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected from around 2 PM MDT
through 9 PM MDT for locations extending from Sherman and Thomas
counties southwest through Greeley and Wichita counties. The primary
threats will be hail up to the size of golfballs, wind gusts to 65
mph and locally heavy rainfall. Locations that received heavy
rainfall Monday night have a heightened threat for flash flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY…
Wednesday evening hail up to quarter size and wind gusts of
60 to 70 MPH may occur with the strongest storms. A tornado may also
form with any storms that develop. The threat for severe weather
will end by midnight as a cold front begins to move through from the
north.
