…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM MDT /4 PM CDT/ THIS
AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE TONIGHT…

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Colorado, Kansas, and
southwest Nebraska, including the following areas, in
Colorado, Cheyenne County, Kit Carson County, and Yuma County.
In Kansas, Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Graham, Greeley, Logan,
Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, Wallace, and
Wichita. In southwest Nebraska, Dundy, Hitchcock, and Red
Willow.

* From 3 PM MDT /4 PM CDT/ this afternoon through late tonight

* Flash flooding will be possible in association with strong to
severe thunderstorms producing locally heavy rainfall. Rainfall
amounts of 1 to 3 inches in a short period of time will be
possible. Heavy rain over the past week has made some areas more
susceptible to flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Flash Flood Watch means that additional rainfall may result in
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to move quickly to higher
ground should flash flooding occur.
