Quinter, Grinnell, Grainfield, Tribune, Leoti, Benkelman,

…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING…

The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Colorado, Kansas, and
southwest Nebraska, including the following areas, in
Colorado, Cheyenne County, Kit Carson County, and Yuma County.
In Kansas, Cheyenne, Decatur, Gove, Graham, Greeley, Logan,
Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, Wallace, and
Wichita. In southwest Nebraska, Dundy, Hitchcock, and Red
Willow.

* Through this evening

* Strong to severe thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall.
Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches in a short period of time will
be possible. Heavy rain over the past week has made some areas
more susceptible to flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Flash Flood Watch means that additional rainfall may result in
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to move quickly to higher
ground should flash flooding occur.
