WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight One last hot day can be expected, with highs soaring into the 95 to 100 degree range for most of the plains and I-25 Corridor. However, there will be some cooling this afternoon as scattered showers and storms develop, and a weak cool front pushes across the plains. Storms today will produce a brief period of rain, lightning, and gusty outflow winds to 40-50 mph. There is a low threat of flash flooding in most of the recent burn areas, as stronger storms there may produce around a half inch of rain in 20 to 30 minutes. That threat may last into the late evening hours. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday On Sunday, cooler temperatures and a higher coverage of showers and storms can be expected. Some of the thunderstorms in the mountains and near the Palmer Divide will produce locally heavy rainfall. The threat of flash flooding in and near recent burn areas will be elevated. Monday and Tuesday will be warmer and somewhat drier. There will still be a chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms both days. The threat of flash flooding in the burn areas however will be limited. By the middle of the week, cooler again with a better chance of showers and thunderstorms across the region. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
