Colorado.
.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight
Near record highs are likely today as temperatures reach the mid
to upper 90s across lower elevations. For those going outdoors
this holiday weekend, please stay hydrated and wear sunscreen.
There is a small chance of a thunderstorm or two over the eastern
plains, roughly east of a line from Sterling to Akron and Limon.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday
Hot temperatures are expected on Monday with highs in the mid to
upper 90s across lower elevations. The fire danger will be high on
Labor Day, especially over the higher terrain. No thunderstorms
are expected.
A cold front is expected to move through on Tuesday, providing a
break from the heat and increasing the chances for isolated showers
in the mountains. Temperatures will warm back into the mid 80s
and lower 90s through Friday with scattered storms, mainly over
the mountains.
