This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
Colorado.
.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight
The fire danger will be elevated over the mountains and foothills
as warm and dry conditions continue. Gusty winds will accompany
the few weak showers and storms that are expected to form over the
mountains and foothills.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday
A cold front will bring cooler temperatures and scattered
thunderstorms for Friday. A couple storms may be strong to severe,
especially over the Palmer Divide and Cheyenne Ridge. Strong wind
gusts and hail will be the primary threats from these storms.
Labor Day weekend will see warming temperatures and mainly dry
conditions. Highs will reach the low to mid 90s on Sunday over
lower elevations. The warmest day of the extended period will be
Labor Day as highs reach the mid and upper 90s across lower
elevations. The fire danger will be high on Labor Day, especially
over higher terrain.
A cold front is expected to move through on Tuesday, cooling down
temperatures and increasing the chances for rain on Tuesday and
Wednesday.
