…Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT this evening for
the North Central Mountains of Colorado…
This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
Colorado.
.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight
Hotter and drier conditions will spread over the area this
afternoon. Winds gusts in the 25 to 35 mph range can be expected
above 9000 feet. Consequently, a Red Flag Warning will remain in
effect for the mountains from noon to 8 pm mdt. Outdoor burning
is extremely discouraged in the warning area as fires will be
able to start and spread quickly in dry vegetation. Not as much
wind elsewhere but hot as high temperatures climb back into the
lower 90s in Denver.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday
The fire danger will be elevated over the mountains and foothills
Thursday as warm and dry conditions continue. A cold front will
bring cooler temperatures and scattered thunderstorms for Friday.
For the Labor Day weekend, after a mild Saturday, very warm and
dry conditions will prevail Sunday and Monday. This will again
increase the fire danger.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…
Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
