This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central
.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight
Expect snow showers to increase in coverage over the mountains
today and this evening with accumulations of 2 to 5 inches by
later tonight. There will be some gusty southwest winds over the
mountains with speeds up to 45 mph. Across lower elevations,
a bit cooler today with rain showers and a few thunderstorms
later this afternoon and tonight.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday
Monday and Tuesday will feature scattered snow showers for the
high mountains, while the plains will see isolated rain showers
with a slight chance of seeing a thunderstorm or two over the far
northeastern plains overnight.
After a warm and relatively dry Wednesday, a system from the
southwest will push up warm moist airmass while a couple of cold
fronts drop along the lee of the Rockies to bring a better chance
for widespread precipitation Thursday into Saturday, with snow
levels lowering over the plains during the nighttime hours, with a
mix possible during the day Friday.
