WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

 ...Winter Storm to impact the area Tonight through Wednesday...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Gusty winds and warm temperatures continue today. High-profile vehicles should use caution this morning as wind gusts in the mountains could reach 65-75 mph. Westerly winds will decrease in the mountains by this afternoon but all areas could experience wind gusts up to 30-40 mph through this evening. Areas across the foothill may also increase near 40 mph as strong downslope winds continue. Light snowfall may lead to hazardous travel conditions in the northern mountains this afternoon but the heaviest snowfall period for the mountains begins overnight tonight.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday  A Winter storm will affect the area tonight through Wednesday. Expect heavy snow in the northern mountains and in and near the northern foothills. Snow will also spread across the plains as well late tonight and Wednesday. Expect a slow morning and afternoon commute on Wednesday.  It will also be much colder as well Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures dropping below zero across the plains Thursday morning.  Thursday into this weekend, temperatures will increase for all areas while the plains will dry out. The mountains will continue to see a daily chance of snow.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight. Any snowfall reports will be appreciated.
