Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 081200Z – 091200Z

Thunderstorms are not forecast across the contiguous United States

An upper-level trough will move eastward from the Mississippi Valley
to the Eastern Seaboard today. Another upper-level trough will dig
southeastward into the northern Rockies as a shortwave ridge moves
into the Great Plains. At the surface, cold and dry high pressure
will dominate the central and eastern states. This will limit
thunderstorm potential across the continental U.S today and tonight.
