Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 211200Z – 221200Z

…NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST…

…SUMMARY…
Showers with a few isolated thunderstorms are possible along coastal
portions of Washington and Oregon today. Severe weather is not
expected.

…Synopsis…
A potent mid-level trough will impact the Pacific Northwest early
Tuesday morning into the afternoon. This feature will lose strength
as it moves into the northern Rockies. With cold air/steep lapse
rates aloft, weak buoyancy will exist both offshore and just inland
of the Washington and Oregon coasts. Isolated thunderstorms will be
possible, particularly earlier in the day, as the mid-level trough
moves inland. Activity will wane by late afternoon once the trough
axis passes to the east.
