Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 130100Z – 131200Z

…NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST…

…SUMMARY…
Severe thunderstorms are not forecast through early Monday.

…01z Update…

Large-scale anticyclonic flow is forecast across the southeastern US
tonight. With weak height rises expected over this region, a plume
of higher-PW air mass should gradually advance north, extending
along a corridor from southern LA – AL – NC by 13/12z. 00z soundings
do not currently exhibit much buoyancy along this corridor, but
elevated instability is expected to increase inland later tonight.
For these reasons, scattered thunderstorms should gradually
spread/develop north as ridging holds firm across the southeastern
US. Given the weak large-scale forcing, severe thunderstorms are not
expected.
