…NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST…
A few thunderstorms may occur along the coast of northwest
California to Washington this evening.
As upper troughing continues to shift across the eastern U.S.,
surface low pressure has moved offshore, along with the weak/remnant
front which now trails from the Gulf Stream, southwestward across
Farther west, a shortwave trough continues moving inland along the
Pacific Northwest/northern California coasts, accompanied by a band
of precipitation. No lightning has been observed with this system
— either offshore, or inland. Still, a few flashes may occur with
showery convection in a post-frontal upslope flow regime this
evening/overnight, beneath cool temperatures aloft.
