Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 050100Z – 051200Z

…NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST…

…SUMMARY…
A few weak thunderstorms may be noted near the Washington and Oregon
coasts tonight.

…Pacific Northwest…

Scattered, mostly shallow, convection continues to develop off the
Pacific Northwest coast ahead of a pronounced short-wave trough that
will approach this region late in the period. Lightning continues to
be quite sparse with this activity, and should remain isolated
through sunrise. While convection is expected to be mostly
scattered/shallow in nature, a more organized band of convection is
expected along the front as it approaches the WA/OR coast around
12z. Lightning probabilities may be a bit higher with this activity,
though still isolated.
