Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 310100Z – 311200Z


An isolated thunderstorm or two may impact portions of southern New
England this evening, and south Florida overnight.

A large upper low remains over the Upper Great Lakes region this
evening — with the center retrograding westward at this time near
the northern shore of Lake Superior. Meanwhile, a second low
continues moving south-southeastward just off the southern
CA/northern Baja CA coast.

Lightning late this afternoon and early this evening has been
confined to portions of southern New England — north of the
triple-point low off the Mid Atlantic Coast, and then farther south
over the Gulf Stream, ahead of the advancing cold front.

From here forward, lighting coverage should remain sparse at best
inland, with a few additional strikes over southeast New England
possible this evening, and then a few strikes possible over parts of
south Florida and the Keys, as the front shifts southward across the
