Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 201630Z – 211200Z

Severe thunderstorms are not expected today or tonight.

A southern stream shortwave trough now over the TX Panhandle will
continue to move eastward over the Red River Valley through Tuesday
morning. Weak low-level warm advection to the immediate cool side
of a coastal front will support some elevated convection near the
middle TX coast. However, the depth of the convection is expected
to remain on the lower margins for charge separation and lightning
production. Otherwise, some shallow convection is also expected
across the FL Straits, but the threat for isolated thunderstorms
should remain south of FL in closer proximity to a stalled surface
