Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 191630Z – 201200Z

Thunderstorms are not expected today.

A few lightning strikes have been observed just off the Olympic
Peninsula this morning. However, warming mid-level temperatures
through the remainder of the period should keep potential for
additional thunderstorms quite low. A mid-level tough now over the
Four Corners will progress into the southern High Plains by the end
of the period. Weak lee troughing will increase southerly flow
across much of Texas this afternoon and evening. Despite weak height
falls, the modification of the polar air mass over the Gulf does not
appear sufficient to support a threat for thunderstorms in South
Texas early tomorrow morning.
