Severe thunderstorms are not forecast through tonight across the
contiguous United States.
…Synopsis…
Water-vapor imagery this evening shows a mid-level low over the
southern Sierra Nevada and this feature is forecast to gradually
weaken and move east into Utah by 12z Thursday morning. A mid-level
dry slot has overspread far southern CA this evening. Deeper and
more appreciable convection is associated with colder temperatures
aloft to the north of the dryslot where steepened 700-500mb lapse
rates are located. The risk for a few thunderstorms will likely
continue to diminish during the early evening hours. Elsewhere,
tranquil conditions will continue over the central and southeast
U.S.
