Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 031300Z – 041200Z

Thunderstorms are not expected across the contiguous U.S. through

Thunderstorm potential will be negligible across much of the CONUS.
One exception will be near the central/southern CA coast towards 12Z
Wednesday. A shortwave trough around 600 miles west of Point
Conception will steadily approach the coast through tomorrow
morning. The pocket of colder mid-level temperatures associated with
the trough may support scant elevated buoyancy approaching the
Channel Islands and nearby coast at 12Z. Appreciable thunderstorm
potential will likely hold off until after 12Z (Day 2 period)
onshore and farther inland across southern CA.
