Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 121300Z – 131200Z

Little or no thunderstorm potential is expected across the country
today and tonight.

As a highly amplified longwave pattern remains over the CONUS, a
sharp cold front will continue to advance southeastward across the
coastal Southeast and Florida today. Shallow/weak convection will
generally be focused along/behind the front. While a few
thunderstorms could occur over the Gulf of Mexico and/or Atlantic,
the potential for thunderstorms will be limited over inland parts of
the Southeast and Florida as updrafts are unlikely to attain
sufficient depth/temperatures conducive for charge separation.

Elsewhere, weak elevated instability could support a thunderstorm or
two this morning across Deep South Texas near the International
border, however the overall coverage/potential should be limited and
of short duration (early today).
