Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 072000Z – 081200Z

…THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR THE
IMMEDIATE COASTAL COUNTIES OF MS…AL…AND THE WESTERN FL
PANHANDLE…

…SUMMARY…
A severe risk may continue near Mobile Bay and the far western
Florida Panhandle this afternoon.

…Mobile Bay vicinity into the far western FL Panhandle…
Observational trends this afternoon indicate a small corridor near
Mobile Bay has destabilized more than previously forecast. Shear
sufficient for transient storm-scale circulations will lend some
possibility for a low risk for a brief tornado or localized wind
damage this afternoon. The severe risk will likely dissipate by
early evening. Please reference MCD 2144 for short-term details.

.PREV DISCUSSION… /ISSUED 0954 AM CST Thu Nov 07 2019/

A broad upper trough is digging into the central/eastern CONUS
today, with a strong cold front surging southward across the
southern Plains, mid Mississippi, and Ohio Valleys. While no
organized severe storms are anticipated today due to poor midlevel
lapse rates and unfavorable vertical shear, scattered thunderstorm
activity will be possible from Texas into much of the southeast
states.
