…Southeast…
Scattered thunderstorms continue to occur today in a moist and
marginal unstable air mass extending from the eastern Gulf of
Mexico, across FL, and eastward into the Atlantic. Relatively
strong heating over the FL peninsula combined with weak surface
boundaries will result in scattered showers and thunderstorms this
afternoon. While a storm or two may become strong with gusty winds,
severe weather is not anticipated.

…Southern Plains…
A cutoff low off the coast of southern CA will move very slowly
eastward today, eventually moving into the southwest states
overnight. Strengthening lift ahead of this system, combined with
low-level warm/moist advection over parts of AZ/NM and the southern
Plains will result in increasing risk of showers and thunderstorms
by evening and especially overnight. Organized severe storms are
not forecast.
