Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 300100Z – 301200Z

…THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CENTRAL TEXAS
AND FROM SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA INTO FAR SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI…

…SUMMARY…
Small hail is possible tonight over central Texas, and isolated
strong storms may affect parts of southeastern Louisiana and the
Mississippi coast.

…Central Texas…
Warm/moist air advection will persist overnight well north of the
cold front and atop a deep, cold boundary layer. Sufficient elevated
instability and strong deep-layer shear will favor a few strong
storms with mainly small hail possible.

…Southeast LA into southern MS…
A warm front will gradually lift north overnight, with 70s F
dewpoints spreading over all of southern LA and toward southern MS
ahead of a cold front and within an inverted surface trough.
Scattered storms are possible due to modest low-level convergence,
and a brief strong wind gust or even weak tornado cannot be ruled
out late tonight.
