Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 290100Z – 291200Z

Non-severe thunderstorms will be possible tonight in the eastern
Gulf Coast states and across the middle Texas coast.

An upper-level trough will dig southeastward into the Intermountain
West tonight as southwest mid-level flow remains over the eastern
half of the U.S. At the surface, high pressure will dominate across
the central U.S. while a moist airmass remains in the Gulf Coast
States. A few thunderstorms will be possible from Florida into
southeast Georgia associated with weak warm advection. Isolated
thunderstorms may also develop along the middle Texas coast ahead of
cold front moving across south-central Texas. Instability is
expected to be too weak in these two areas for a severe threat
