Thunderstorms will be possible today across parts of the Gulf Coast
States, Eastern Seaboard, lower Great Lakes and Pacific Northwest.
…DISCUSSION…
An upper-level trough will move eastward across the Appalachian
Mountains today and to the eastern Seaboard tonight. An upper-level
ridge will move eastward across the Rockies. At the surface, a cold
front will advance southward to the Gulf Coast. Thunderstorm
development will be possible along and ahead of the cold front from
south Texas to Florida. A few thunderstorms will also be possible
along the eastern Seaboard from eastern Georgia to southern New
England. Isolated thunderstorms may also develop near the Pacific
Northwest coast and in parts of the lower Great Lakes. Instability
is expected to be insufficient in these areas for a severe threat
today and tonight.
