With thunder waning across the Northeast, severe risk has ended.
While a few lightning strikes remain possible in the short term,
both severe and thunder areas are being removed at this time.
Elsewhere, lightning is expected to gradually wane over the
Southwest tonight, though a few strikes may linger into the
overnight hours. Thunder may also continue for a few more hours
across the northern Montana/northern Idaho vicinity. Finally,
elevated convection is expected to develop after midnight within a
zone from northeast Missouri/western Illinois north-northeastward
toward/into southern Wisconsin. In all areas, no severe weather is
expected.
