Severe thunderstorms are not forecast across the Lower 48 states
through tonight.
…Synopsis…
A broad mid-level trough over the western U.S. will slowly move
eastward from the West Coast states into the interior western U.S.
tonight. A band of strengthening mid-level ascent is forecast to
move across UT/western CO this evening accompanied by showers and
low-topped convection. A few lightning flashes are possible with
the deeper convection. Elsewhere, a few thunderstorms are possible
across the Sacramento Valley through the early evening. Cool/stable
surface high pressure will lead to tranquil conditions over the
eastern half of the U.S.
