Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 010100Z – 011200Z

A few lightning flashes remain possible this evening across western
parts of the Pacific Northwest.

A progressive upper flow field will continue across the U.S. this
period, with an eastern trough moving gradually eastward, a western
trough shifting steadily southeastward, and a slow-moving, flat,
intervening ridge prevailing over the remainder of the country.

With dry/stable low-level conditions prevailing over most of the
country, thunderstorms are not expected. The only exception may be
over the higher terrain of western Washington/western Oregon this
evening, where a few additional/occasional flashes may occur, before
upper troughing progresses through the region.
