Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 201300Z – 211200Z

Severe thunderstorms are not expected through tonight.

…North to east-central FL…
A residual surface front across central FL should advance north into
north FL by afternoon, before being overtaken by a
southeast-advancing cold front. Forcing in vicinity of this
boundary will be weak, yielding low confidence in thunderstorm
development. However, some potential does exist for convection to
form on the poleward side of the advancing cold front and so will
defer any changes to the thunder area here for later outlooks.
Farther south, near the Space coast, sufficient boundary-layer
heating may occur towards late afternoon along an Atlantic coast
convergence zone. Initially warm/dry mid-levels (as sampled by the
12Z Tampa sounding) may hold isolated convection from just showers
to a brief thunderstorm or two.
