Day 1 Severe Weather Outlook

Valid 170100Z – 171200Z

Severe thunderstorms are not expected across Florida tonight.

Deamplifying short-wave trough is ejecting across AL this evening.
Weak convection continues ahead of this feature but is currently
suppressed across northern FL where minimal lightning is observed.
Of somewhat more significance, but still minimally electrified, is a
band of diurnally-driven convection along the interior of the
peninsula. This activity will be shunted offshore over the next few
hours, especially across the northern half of the state. 00z
soundings across this region are not very unstable and the prospect
for significant thunderstorm activity remains low. Even so, a few
flashes can not be ruled out into the overnight hours. For these
reasons will maintain 10% thunder probs.
