This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight Snow will continue this morning mainly across the urban corridor, foothills, and Palmer Divide before ending around midday. Strong wind gusts are expected with gusts up to 65 mph from the Palmer Divide southward and up to 50 mph across the rest of the plains. The combination of snow and strong winds may create blizzard conditions across Douglas County and the rest of the Palmer Divide this morning. If you can avoid or delay travel in those areas this morning, it would be recommended. Across the Denver metro and southern foothills, hazardous travel conditions will exist for the morning commute due to slick, snow-covered roads and reduced visibilities. Wind chills may briefly get below zero this morning across the plains and Palmer Divide. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Strong winds are expected in the mountains and foothills Tuesday. More snow is expected in the mountains by Wednesday, with another chance for some snow spreading onto the plains Thursday into Friday. Another threat for high winds in the mountains/foothills Tuesday night into Wednesday. Areas of blowing snow will result in hazardous travel in the high country. There is potential for a strong arctic airmass to settle in by the weekend resulting in well below normal temperatures. Strength of this airmass remains uncertain at this time, but there is increasing confidence in well below normal temperatures. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed today or tonight.
