WASHINGTON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

  ...Winter Storm headed towards Colorado...  This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast and north central Colorado.  .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight  Gusty westerly winds will increase over the higher mountains and exposed east slopes early this morning with gusts up to 65 mph. Strong winds will also develop across the far northeast plains by later this morning with gusts up to 50 mph. The winds will decrease over the mountains by later this afternoon.  The next storm system will spread snow over the mountains and foothills later this afternoon and evening and then develop over the plains by later tonight. Snow will become widespread after midnight tonight in most locations with the heaviest snow expected over the Southern Front Range foothills and Palmer Divide region. Roadways will become icy and snowpacked by later tonight, especially along and south of Interstate 70.  .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday  Snow will continue through much of the day Wednesday, with a few inches of additional snowfall. Winds will also increase across the plains during the day, with a few gusts up to 50 mph possible. Snow and blowing snow will make travel difficult through the day.  Quieter weather is expected for the rest of the week into the weekend, with warmer temperatures also forecast.  .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...  Spotter activation will not be needed, however snowfall reports will be appreciated.
